Brannigans

There's a new guy in the room in the hostel. He's from Holland. The reason I mention this is because when I put on my tie, he asked me if I was a priest. Maybe I reminded him of Barats And Bereta.
The reason I put on my tie is an interview with Brannigans. Their office is on the top floor and the panorama at the end of this post is what they see every day when they look out of their window. Hiring me would be a bad deal for them, because I'd stand at the window all day long. Fortunately, Brannigans is a recruitment company and doesn't hire computer scientists. They get them job interviews. In my case, the interview will be the day after tomorrow with a company called Jade.

Having nothing to do for the rest of the day, I took a vacation from my vacation. The best way to spend a vacation in Christchurch is to go to the Botanic Gardens. I sat on the grass, reading a book, writing a few postcards and getting a tan. And then, out of the blue, came this Chinese guy and started chatting with me. Like in Sky Tower! He's 23 years old and an economy student. We had a pretty interesting conversation, but he was in a hurry and had to leave after a few minutes.

Back at the hostel, there was a new guy from Spain. Spain! Great, because I could finally use the only Spanish phrase I know: Hablo Español muy bien. Didn't get me anywhere, though ;-)

Later this evening, I tried to find some proper food, because I'm sick and tired of fast food. I went to a Greek restaurant that sold stuff to take away. Unfortunately, they ran out of bred, so they sent me away. Oh well, at least I tried.
