Birthday In The City Of Sails
I woke up at 2 AM. So much for my lack of jet lag. Or was it this guy's mobile phone that rang at this time? I managed to get back to sleep around 4 AM and woke up around 11-ish. Okay, maybe a little jet lag.
Since today was my birthday (I'm 28 now), I didn't see any reason to be in a hurry, so I switched to holiday mode and strolled around. On my way through Auckland I came across the City Library. It was half an hour before they closed, but the place was crowded with Asians. These people study harder than any other group I've heard of. Very impressive!
In the evening, I went to see Transformers in the only IMAX in New Zealand. Since there is an IMAX in Speyer (~20 km from where my parents live), I wasn't aware that they are something special. And since I decided not to do the sky tower jump (this time!), going to the IMAX was my present for myself. The movie was fun to watch (especially Megan Fox because she has such beautiful eyes), but I completely failed to understand why they would hide this cube-thingy in the middle of a city!
