2007-06-30 Surprise!

My keyboard was all dirty and sticky, so I decided to clean it and removed all keys with a screwdriver. I knew for sure that this wouldn't break anything, because it wasn't the first time I did it. For other types of keyboards this might cause severe damage, so don't try this at home, kids. Then I put all keys (there are 106 of them!) in an old sock, tied it up and washed them along with my clothes in the washing machine. Now they're better than new. Doesn't keep me from eating while I type, though...

Wednesday: scuba diving training. Thursday: scuba diving. Friday: climbing. Saturday: scuba diving training. Exhausting! And then there was this party...

Thomas celebrated his birthday today. The fun part was that he didn't know it until it was too late to call it off. We met in a Mexican restaurant (when I say "we" I mean ten people excluding Thomas) and waited. Half an hour later, Thomas and his girlfriend Uli came in and we started to sing "Happy Birthday To You". (When I say "we" I mean everybody except me. That was my birthday present.) Considering his age, he recovered rather quickly and we had a great party. We took a funny picture of him wearing a huge sombrero, but I can't post it here I'm afraid, because a) I don't have it and b) Thomas doesn't know about my blog. I hope that's okay, but I'm sure you have no trouble imagining somebody you've never seen before in a huge sombrero that hasn't been described properly. After all, people who can imagine caustics can imagine everything, right?

It was 3 in the morning when I came home. Now it's 3.30 and I'm starting to feel a little tired. If it wasn't for the catnap I had after diving training, I would have slept in the restaurant and missed all the fun. So a big shout-out goes to Mr. Beethoven for making it so much easier to sleep during the day!
