"A problem is just an opportunity in disguise" If that is so, then I figure I got myself quite an opportunity here. Living at the bottom of my company's food chain, I encountered lots of disguised opportunities, but this one happens to be the worst of them. So let's begin at the beginning, shall we?
Around Christmas time I've been working overtime, up to 12 hours a day, because we had a deadline. This month, however, I don't have much to do. In fact, I'm sitting there, fooling around with the software, killing time and begging my boss to give me something to do. That sheds some light on their organization skills, doesn't it? To be frank, I'm downright pissed with the whole situation.
And here comes the ugly part: Today, my boss made me a tester. In my humble opinion, a software tester is to a software developer what a cleaning lady is to an architect. It's a respectable job and it needs to be done, but usually you don't send people to a university to learn it. Now guess who's the only person other than my boss with a university degree in the entire software department? Yeah, that would be me.
I hate this day.

Also, I hate to post only negative things, but today I drew a blank. The only other thing worth mentioning at all was that the gateway and the router took turns in breaking down for at least two hours. Nothing to do and no Internet available is not a good combination. Or to end this post the way it started (with a cliché): "An idle mind is the devil's playground"
