2008-01-05 Okay, I'm Here. So?
The trip from Hong Kong to Auckland took 10 or 11 hours. Even the most uncomfortable airplane seats ever didn't keep me from sleeping most of the time. I even missed breakfast. (They woke me up, but I refused to eat and fell asleep a few minutes after.)
In Auckland, only the bag with my scuba diving gear was on the conveyor belt. The bag with my clothes wasn't. My mom kinda predicted that. But she also predicted a Tsunami, so that doesn't prove anything. I'm just saying. Anyway, this seems to happen a lot these days, so they have a counter for people like me. Didn't take too long, and I didn't have to fill out anything. Nice! They'll bring the bag to my hostel as soon as it shows up in Hong Kong or Auckland or Christchurch or where ever. It wouldn't surprise me if it went back to Manila. Great, now I'm envious. Last part of the trip was from Auckland to Christchurch. Nothing special there. The bus driver on the way from the airport to the hostel was the same guy as last time. He seems to do weekend shifts. Poor chap.

Now I'm in Christchurch. And I'm terribly homesick. Well... technically, I'm not. But then again, home is where the heart is, isn't that what they say? Who could have known... Oh well, I can figure this out. It's just another obstacle on the long and winding road. Wait! It's we can figure this out. Not I. We. See, now I'm happy again :-D
If it were only that simple...
