Yet another household tip:
When your curtains look dirty, it's probably a good idea to wash them. There's only one exception to the rule. When your curtains look dirty after midnight, it's probably an even better idea not to wash them immediately. Sleep on it. (Not literally, silly!) Because if you wash them now, you'll end up with wet curtains and even less sleep than usual. It will also make you believe that hanging up wet curtains to dry them "on site" is a good idea. Which it isn't. Not in autumn, anyway. Your windows will film over, and you cannot really close the windows for the next couple of days. Which, in autumn, is a bit annoying. Not to mention the wrinkles...
