2008-04-08 This And That
Goku grew up! This is yesterday's news, I know. (23 October 2003, to be precise...) But it's new to me, and that's enough to give it a place on my blog. Remember Goku? The little kid with the tail? No? That's probably because you never watched Dragon Ball. You should have! But anyway, yesterday I saw the episode where he stopped being a kid. I'm curious where it'll go from there, because a big part of the show is (was!) that a cute and somewhat naive kid was able to beat the hell out of all of his evil opponents and still be pure of heart afterwards.

Household tip: don't buy green bananas. From what I hear, green tomatoes will turn red eventually if you let them be, even if they're already plucked. Bananas won't. They will skip the yellow phase and go directly from green to brown without detour. That's a problem when they are sold in bunches of seven or eight. The green ones are uneatable, and the yellow ones will be brown before you know it.

Today I've been watching two episodes of Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It wasn't too bad, but there are much better shows out there. Pushing Daisies, for example. Or The Pretender (long gone, but still great). Or Doctor Who. Anyway, there are two good things about the Chronicles. The first one is that has Summer Glau in it. She is totally hot, which kind of makes you wonder why she always gets to play the mindless freaks. And the second one is that Doctor Silverman has lost it. If that's not irony of fate, I don't know what is.

Random thought of the day: finding matching pairs of socks is just like playing memory, except there's no younger kid that outsmarts you.
