2008-02-20 Make Some Noise
Currently this blog is a little Unix/Linux/computer focused. Sorry. Given my extraordinarily short attention span, it won't stay that way forever. It's Linux, you know. At the moment, it is for me what Lego used to be when I was a kid: the most fascinating toy/tool (in this case synonyms) that was ever made. It is so universal and consists of so many different pieces that one can create everything with it. And I mean everything.
For example, here's a nice and simple script to play all mp3 files in the current directory and all subdirectories.
#!/bin/sh
T=$(mktemp)
mv $T $T.m3u
T=$T.m3u
find "$(pwd)" -iregex .*\.mp3 |sort > $T
vlc $T 2> /dev/null &
sleep 1
rm -f $T
Feel free to replace vlc by your favorite mp3 player.

I wanna go there! Too far, though. Also, if I could easily go so far, that's not the first place I would pick. But still, I think they're going to have fun.

Someone from Hamburg is reading my blog on a fairly regular basis. Strange. Who do I know in Hamburg? Thomas? It's not him. I asked. Andreas? Maybe, but I don't believe my blog is of any interest to him. Nadine? Now that would be weird. No sign of life for more than two years, but secretly reading my blog. Ha!
Okay, stranger, here's the deal. You reveal yourself by leaving a comment with at least a hint of your identity, and I will... well... I have no idea what I could possibly do to lure you out of your hiding place. Because I don't know who you are. Not my fault! :-P
