2008-02-01 In January, I...

... saw (and touched) a makahiya
... learned how to ride a jeep
... had to leave my girlfriend behind (temporarily!)
... came to New Zealand
... started a new job
... got my bag back (Air New Zealand lost it)
... learned the importance of changing passwords
... moved into my current apartment
... got a bank account, DSL and an IRD number
... learned a new programming language: Jade
... got my first geek shirt
... implemented a Google Gadget
... started jogging again

I don't like coffee. And I don't like coke. Nevertheless I had one cup/can of each today. Both did a good job at keeping my eyes open. Next time I'll stick to coffee, though. It's not half as disgusting (in fact I really like the smell of it!), it's warm and can be diluted with milk and de-bittered with sugar. Zero Sugar Coke is even worse than the usual stuff. Ewww!

I did it again! Tonight I was going to go and see Mela with a few co-workers. We talked about it before we called it a day and I think I remembered the street number to be 191 or 193 or something in that area. Next to where I go for swimming. Easy. I'll be there at 9pm. Or so I thought.
Admittedly, I was a little late. I got there at 9.15pm. Now here's the thing: No one was there! No one I knew, anyway. A few punks were standing outside, smoking and trying to look cool and indifferent, but that's it. I cursed myself for not having a single number to call.

Lynda, if you're reading this: Where have you been? And no, that's not a poor excuse. "Oops, I forgot! I was tired and went to bed at 9pm." That's a poor excuse ;-)

Doh! We wondered where you got to! We just figured you had piked on us :(

You were in the right place, we all we're just in another room. Did you not ask the bartender where the band was?

Next time we'll make sure to pick you up, no excuses needed then :D
