Reminiscing

I'm still trying to knock some order into my own personal data jungle. There are not only audio files and pictures, but also tons of homespun programs, old computer games, letters, scientific publications, cooking recipes and short stories. My friend Dennis used to write them (the short stories, not the cooking recipes).
The woman on the left is called Lena. She's quite famous in certain circles and you cannot call yourself a computer graphics geek when you don't know her. I found the complete picture on my hard disk, but I won't post it. Hehe.
When I looked at all the photos, my life kind of flashed before my eyes. I was surprised how young everybody looked at pictures from tenth grade. But then again, that was more than ten years ago. Seven years ago, when I worked in a nursery home, I took tons of pictures, too. It feels weird to look at these pictures, knowing that they are all dead by now. A little like Harry Potter (I haven't read the last volume, though -- maybe they all resurrect?). Then I came to the photos that were taken at the time I met my first girlfriend. I looked young. Scary! That was when I stopped looking and just moved them to my image folder without further ado.

The picture on the right is one of my favourite shots from the nursery home. The lady was 99 years old when it was taken. Her legs were pretty weak (after all, they carried her through more than thirty thousand days and two world wars), so she sat in a wheelchair most of the time. But other than that, she was fit as a fiddle.
(I have no idea what has become of her, but I know for a fact that she lived to see her hundredth birthday.)
