Chocolate Cake

My landlords want to sell the house. Let's see who's gone faster -- them or me! I'm afraid they will win, which is a real shame. I'm sure I've been planning for much longer. Also, they are very nice people and you never know who comes next.

Today I made a chocolate cake. The recipe is from a book I got when I was seven years old. It's full of games kids can play on rainy days, tons of craft ideas and this one recipe. The exciting thing about it is that it doesn't use milk or eggs, which is good since I have neither nor at the moment. In fact, the recipe is so good that I'm going to share it. Please keep in mind that it's actually a muffins recipe (although muffins were not widely known in Germany at that time), so the baking time is probably too short.

1.5 cups of flour
3 tablespoons of cocoa
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 pack of vanilla sugar
1 cup of cold water
5 tablespoons of oil
1 tablespoon of vinegar

Mix it all together and bake it for 30 minutes (possibly longer if you're making a cake instead of muffins) at 200 °C / 400 °F. Easy, isn't it? And it's delicious, too!

I can do couch hopping for a while, but I think it's time I got a new girlfriend so that I'll have a permanent place to crash ;-)
