After The Beep
I have this thing about answering machines. Of course I know they are useful and all. When I still had a phone (i.e. a landline), I even had one myself. But still, it feels kind of awkward to leave a message. Why I mention it? Well, because that's what I had to do today, in spite of the appointment I had. What is the point in making an appointment when you're not at the office at the time? Why I needed an appointment for a phonecall? Because I called in New Zealand via skype with a few questions on my mind.
I'm starting to get this "Picture Postcards From LA" feeling about New Zealand, like I'm always planning and never getting there anyway. The people I paid for being there when I need them not being there when I need them doesn't help, either.
*sigh*

I discovered the Urban Dictionary's RSS feed. If my little word of the day is not enough for you, feel free to do as I did: subscribe!

The last few days I've been in my bedroom not only for sleeping but also to watch DVDs on my notebook. Everybody knows it's impossible to enjoy a movie (or Scrubs, for that matter) in broad daylight. So I kept the bedroom shutter closed for the better part of one week. Not a big deal actually, but this morning a woman was on the door asking me if she could rent my flat since it's obviously not inhabited. I was like "Sorry dude, I live here!" and I also considered cleaning my windows once in a while. Instead I cleaned the kitchen. I would have posted an after picture, but what's the point without a before picture, and that would definitely be far too embarrassing.

Here's what I thought the first time I...
... stayed up all night: Who would have thought birds were that loud in the morning!
... drank too much: Muahahahaha!
... did hand-to-hand combat: This is sure much more difficult when you cannot see your opponent from the side like on the computer
... drove a car: How can anybody steer, shift gears and use the turn signal all at the same time, and not forget to take a look in the rear view mirror?
... climbed a rock: Looking ten meters upwards and then ten meters downwards sure isn't the same thing!
... did scuba diving: Gosh, this is gorgeous!
... did sky diving: >>>Geronimooooooo! (At least I think that what it's going to be. Sky diving hasn't actually happened yet. 10 days and counting!)
