2007-05-18 Computer Induced Insomnia

Boy am I going to get no sleep this weekend!
My dad called this morning (we actually talked on Jabber, but that's almost the same). His computer shut itself down in the middle of work and when it came back online the program with which he had been working was gone. I tried to solve the problem in the chat, but my dad and computers are as incompatible as... er... the most incompatible thing you can think of. So I will go there tomorrow after scuba diving training. In the evening I will meet a friend of mine, but only if it does not interfere with her soccer watching schedule. Well, at least I know my place in life. I'll drive back here late at night to use the whole Sunday for paperwork and packing boxes. It's a crying shame that I cannot take these boxes to my parents tomorrow, but the computer fix is kind of urgent.

Yet another climbing day has passed. We're really getting better at it. When we started a route rated 5 was difficult for us. Today we both made a 6+. It's not so much about strength, but rather about technique. And Sascha eventually mastered the route he's been struggling with for the last two times. He will sleep well tonight!

On the way home I was followed by a police car for about five kilometers until they decided to make me pull over and check out my license. Everything went fine but they told me one of my back lights is broken. Again.
In my almost ten years of driving I've been controlled only three times before. The first time was when I came home from my girlfriend (at the time) in summer. I promised to call her as soon as I got home and due to this silly control it took me twice as long. And the light of my license plate was broken, too. The second time was in winter when I came home from a party some eighty kilometers away and I was pooped. They made me wait in my car and it got really chilly, but I didn't dare to switch on the engine. At least nothing was broken. The third time was when I came home from yet another party and a friend of mine slept in the passengers seat. I didn't find my vehicle registration certificate (I thought I had forgotten it at home because my car came from the garage, but I found it under my seat the next day), and the friendly officer let it slide. He could have charge 10 Euros for that, but having a sleeping girl in the car helps in times like this.

I also wanted to write that I had my very first real live chat with Kristine. But Kristine, since you're my one and only reader at this point, it would be dumb to tell you that I talked to you, wouldn't it? It was fun! Let's repeat it soon!

I kind of like it that every entry you write is just for me. Heh.

I guess I can put that on the list that makes me special.

You should use a pencil though, because as soon as I go to New Zealand I will tell everybody about this blog. But I'm not worried because I'm sure your list is long enough already.
Meanwhile, I really enjoy using you as my own personal "Dear Kitty" ;-)

What's a "Dear Kitty"?

Why can't you tell people now about your blog? Why wait till NZ?

On Friday I told Sascha about my New Zealand plans. This morning, I told Thomas about the scuba diving. Now I need a break!
