2007-03-19 Save The World

Not much to talk about today, but I will do it anyway.

Conny is ill and will stay at home for the rest of the week. That's bad, because Conny is the cook where I work. He's a cool cat and one of the few persons I will miss when I have a new job. I even missed him today, when we ordered pizza. It was not as good as Connys food, but okay. Triggered by the spinach (I hate spinach!) on one particularly strange-looking pizza, some co-workers started to talk about a movie called Soylent Green. I haven't seen it yet, but apparently it is about a company that makes food from corpses. I remember having read an article about this very movie in the student magazine in 5th or 6th grade, and I didn't like the idea back then, either. Nevertheless, for the sake of knowledge accumulation (what a cool word!), I decided to try and find a copy to watch. Sooner or later, a man's got to face his demons, as Mulder once said.

Shortly before I went home, Axel (co-worker and boss at the same time, and another one I'm going to miss) told me about Microsofts LINQ project. As exciting as this topic is to me, I am going to yield to the majority of my audience (hi Kristine *grin*) and refrain from reproducing our conversation in my blog.

When I came home, I started a simulated brokers account, so I can test my skills without losing real money. If everything works as I have planned, then by the end of 2008, I will be able to buy the world before it falls into the wrong hands.

Addendum:
It's completely useless to complain about the weather, everybody knows that. But right now, it's tempting. A lot. Do you see the white stuff in the road? That's snow. In March. No white Christmas last year, no snowmen on new years eve. And what do we get two days before the first day of spring? Yeah, right.
The good thing is if the snow survives until the end of tomorrows working day, wild horses cannot keep me from building a snow man.
