Preparation Day
This morning I went to the doctor to check my immunization card. I spent 10 minutes in the waiting room, 5 minutes in a discussion with the doc about immunization and how to prevent dying from a thrombosis. After that, we somehow came from New Zealand to working conditions to general social problems in Germany to the use of family structures until he realized after ~30 minutes that other patients might become impatient... 'twas a nice conversation, though.
After that I went to the travel agency to book the flight to New Zealand. I totally felt like Truman. Remember the scene when he was trying to get a flight to Fiji and the woman behind the counter made him wait so long that it became uncomfortable? That wasn't fiction at all! After a while she said it might take a little longer ("the computer is quite slow today"), asked for my phone number told me she'd call as soon as she found a good flight.
Then I went to work. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
Since Sascha and I didn't go climbing the last two Fridays, we made up for it today. More blisters. Yay ;-)
The travel agent hasn't called yet.
