2007-07-21 Lost A Planet Obi-Wan Has...

Voila!
I merged to recipes and that's what I came up with. Not bad, but I've made better. If only I could find my original recipe... I cannot remember putting chocolate shavings in the dough! The only thing that I remember for sure is that one cannot use too much Kirschwasser, so I almost did.

We celebrated my mother's birthday, and a bunch of people came by to visit. Inevitably, the conversation turned towards illnesses, doctors and hospitals. Once people reach a certain age, that must be normal dinner conversation to them. It's the one topic that annoys me even more than how much I've grown since they last saw me. Argh!

Another interesting observation was that nobody knew Star Wars, except for my cousin's son Henrik (10 years old) and me. My cousin wasn't there, though. I'm sure she would have known it, too. Embarrassing enough, that kid knew even more than me! He was the only kid in the group, so he was bored out of his skull. After a while he asked my mom for paper and crayons and drew the space battle from the beginning of Episode 3 (Episode with a capital E refers to Star Wars, in case you didn't notice). To me it was totally obvious, because it had the ancestors of both X-Wings and Tie-Fighters in it. Also, there were a lot of lethal laser beams in red and blue. In fact it was so obvious that I could have pointed at Anakin's and Obi-Wan's fighter without a second thought. It was the painting of a ten year old and as such it lacked perspective, but it was still absolutely obvious that this was a raging space battle in the prime of technology. But what did my mom do? She pointed at one of the laser canons (which looked a little like that: O==) and asked him "Are those windows?". Bummer! Parents can be sooo embarrassing!

But other than that it was a good day.

I think it says a lot about someone if they're in a room full of people and the only one they would get along with is a ten year old.

But non of them knew Star Wars. Not a single one of them! Nobody! Not anybody! Argh!
