2007-07-07 Gratitude or 80 €?

It's 10 in the morning, so I'll have to date this back to yesterday. Again. Obviously it doesn't take much to whack my sleeping schedule. The heck with it, I don't have to work next week, so there will be plenty of time to get back on track.

Three reasons why work is better than school:
1) you get money for it!
2) no homework!
3) when you're ill during your vacation, you get your time back!

Durex is hiring! Fun at work and a rudimentary dress code! Would any female out there care to be my... er... intern? :-D

Interesting fact about DLRG (Deutsche Lebensrettungsgesellschaft -- German lifeguards): It's not so easy to save a person from drowning, usually they panic and fight. In theory there is a way you can snatch someone so that they cannot resist. However, that doesn't work too well. In practice a lifeguard is more likely to wait until you sink and get you up again than risk their own safety by picking an uneven fight. But that's not the interesting fact. The interesting fact is what they get for saving a life: nothing. Okay, let's not be unfair. They will feel good for the rest of the day knowing that they saved a human being. They get gratitude and from what I hear being a lifeguard might get one laid. But let's be realistic: They earn 80 € for every corpse they land. Now do you feel save?
