2007-07-11 Creationism vs. Slartibartfast

Once again, I was on my way to bed when I realized that I haven't posted a blog yet. There's just no diurnal rhythm when I have a week off. I have an idea what to write about for the rest of the week, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. it's too late and I'm too tired.

There are senators in the USA who don't believe in evolution! They believe in the so-called creationism, a theory that states that God created the world as it is today, and evolution didn't occur. The way I was brought up makes it kind of difficult for me not to laugh at them; I'd rather believe in Slartibartfast than in creationism. But when you look at it completely free of prejudice, who knows? Maybe Darwin got it all wrong and there really is a conspiracy to hide the true nature of... well... nature itself. Maybe Kennedy came too close to the truth and that's why they shot him. Then again... maybe not. Be that as it may, I'd really like to have a long conversation with a creationist one day. Not to convince them of my own ideas, but rather to pick their brain. That ought to be interesting!
