2008-06-08 Live From The Library
This is sort of a live broadcast. Although I'm not online as I type this (because either ndiswrapper doesn't do a thorough job, or my notebook's wi-fi card doesn't work anymore), I'm going to post this unaltered.
I'm in the library, warming my feet, writing software, watching people. Watching is by far the most interesting. Some use their notebooks, some read for fun, some study and some came here to watch people. How rude.
When I was in New Zealand for the first time, I might have blogged about how Asian students seem to live in the library. They study so hard my brain would melt if I attempted the same thing. That's only one of the many things that make them so charming. But (there is always a but, I suppose) they don't seem to be especially gifted when it comes to blinds. Half an hour ago, I saw a girl struggle with a stuck blind for a couple of minutes before she gave up and went to a place with less direct sunlight. Now there's a new couple with the same problem. They were not able to solve the problem properly, but at least they found a workaround that suited them. Instead of changing the length, they changed the angle. Hooray for slats and multidimensional thinking!
