2008-06-04 When You Learn To Dance...

... you might be inclined to talk badly about your fellow learners. About the way some women move around too much, because they're so enthusiastic. Or that they grab you way too firmly. About how some (i.e. most) of the men have no rhythm whatsoever. How twenty percent of the people cannot put simple sentences such as "raise your left hand" into action (the other left, guys!).
You might also get the feeling that the good dancers don't really care anymore, because they look like they'd rather be somewhere else. They're too absent-minded to have a good time. And when they aren't, they're only showing off.

You might be inclined to think (and even blog about) all that. A word from the wise: don't. Because when you're completely honest to yourself, your partner just grabbed you firmly because she didn't want to get stepped on again. And your stepping on her isn't exactly her fault, either. In fact, you wish you already were one of these absent-minded pros, right? Right!

***

Poor excuse of the day: "Sorry, I couldn't start reading your thesis earlier, because I had to learn how to dance first and then I had to blog about it."

Absent-minded pros meditating detachedly inside their own Salsa world... Naw. I like those spectator-aware pros better.
Here's one.
