2007-04-03 There And Back Again

It's quarter to midnight and this is the first time I can rest. Of all days this year, today was the busiest. After lunch at work I drove to the doctor to get my "Fitness for recreational scuba diving" certificate. Among other funny stuff, they made the first stress ECG in my whole life: I was sitting on a ergometer with wires coming from my chest and sweat dripping off my forehead. Interesting experience. Everything turned out just fine, so now I have the ultimate go for scuba diving. Yesss!
Since the medical practice was very close to my parents place, I decided to stop by there. Unfortunately we only had a few minutes, because I was in a hurry to get to my theoretical scuba diving lesson. At least there was enough time to grab all these letters that still come to my parents. After diving theory I filed away two bills, one confirmation of payment and one acknowledgement of account opening. Darn paperwork.
All in all, I drove almost 200 km, visited three different places (doctor, parents, diving) and was on the road for approximately three hours. I found out that my car can indeed go 160 km/h when the conditions are optimal (half empty tank, completely empty highway and following wind). Yay!

One of these days I'm gonna need to make an appointment for the IELTS test (International English Language Testing System) and one for yet another medical examination. Both are required when applying for work permit in New Zealand.

It's way past midnight and I just remembered that it's the birthday of a friend of mine in the USA. I will mail him a few lines and then I will probably fall asleep on my keyboard. I'm pooped, but it was a good day.
