2009-01-26 Flight Or Invisiblity?

Last Tuesday -- after living in the new place for over two weeks --, I finally managed not to get lost on the way to and from work. You have to turn right, left, go straight ahead, follow the curve, turn left, right and immediately left and then turn right before you're on familiar ground again. And that was only one way. I'm so proud of myself!

Of course, if finding your way to work doesn't pose a significant challenge any more, there's only one thing to do. Buy a car. So I did. And it only took me 8 months from wanting a car to getting one. It's a dark green automatic with electric windows. Now I'm looking forward to some high class getting lost all over the South Island. Next stop: Queenstown! (hopefully)

In unrelated news, it's been a busy week. Moving house is not over when it's over. It's only over when you don't discover any more rusty things in closets. And the backyard is in a somewhat more presentable shape. And the disgusting, old, flea-infested couches are disposed of. And the pictures are on the walls. And you have a proper bookshelf. And maybe even a bed.

PS: It's a Nissan Cefiro Eximo 1995. I think.

PPS: I didn't mean to bash Kristine's navigation skills. She's a good navigator. All I'm saying is that I'm equally good at getting lost. If not better.

Good luck with the car! I hope you're not planning any planetarium visits anytime soon. Although... if you end up in Schwetzingen, give me a call. :-)
