2009-01-18 We Finally Moved
From Hereford Street to Barbadoes Street. It's somewhat off the beaten tracks, but there's a bus to the center ("City Centre"). That's good, since we kinda still don't have a car just yet. Fortunately Jiri has one, with which he kindly helped us get most of our things to the new place. It's hard to believe how much stuff 1.23 people* can collect in only one year.
Before I continue, a few words about the picture. It's the only picture we've taken of the place so far. As you can see, it's a DSL router, a wireless router, a splitter and a power board in a handy configuration optimized for beauty, minimum space on the floor (it's hanging on the wall) and short cables. Kristine calls it lovingly "this contraption of yours". I call it "a symbol that symbolized the contemporary symbolism of symbolic symbolicity. And vogonity."
The first night in the new place was somewhat disturbing. Kristine slept like a baby, but I couldn't fall asleep until one o'clock. The window was open, which is why I woke up at two when one of the neighbors got lucky. Very loudly and for quite a while. With long pauses though, which more than once fooled me into thinking they'd lost interest altogether. And at four a bunch of other neighbors came home from a party. That was finally loud enough to even wake up Kristine.
The other day we packed our things and moved to the second bedroom, which is on the other side of the house. With a little luck the neighbors on that side are... bah, who am I kidding.
* Kristine has been here for two months and three weeks, hence (12+2.75)/12.

For a minute there I thought you got 1.23 from me being short and skinny.
