2009-05-09 Travel Plans

The plans for our trip to Europe begin to take shape.

So these are the dates:

2009-07-28:
Departure from Christchurch and arrival in Manila.
That will be 98 days after Kristine left Christchurch. It's an awful big number considering that it kinda contains our honeymoon. But at least not as long as the first time (126 days) or second time (149 days). Not to mention the very first time: 10305 days.
(The answer is dateDiff, if you were wondering. And since I recently learned how to create debian packages, feel free to ask me for one.) But I am digressing...

2009-08-09:
Departure from Manila and arrival in Frankfurt.
Things do do, places to go, meals to eat and last but not least people to introduce. It'll be fun.
And of course we will have a Polterabend. After all, sequence is in the eye of the beholder. If you consider me a friend (or if you consider me someone who considers you a friend), feel free to drop by. The exact date is yet to be announced. Personal invitations will be given to a chosen few. Spread the word!
During the last week we will probably go to Florence to meet up with Ben and Kristen. Flying is a bit more expensive than driving, so we'll probably borrow my parent's car for 4 or 5 days.

2009-08-31:
Departure from Frankfurt and arrival in Christchurch 2 (!) days later.

Doing research for the Florence trip, I stumbled across this funny situation on Google Maps. You can't tell from the thumbnail (sorry for that), but it looks like you have to drive through a building to follow the route.
